Antique, collectors item, knotted by the Turkish Kurds, vegetable dyes, the black knots are oxidized, the knots are hand spun lamb wool, the warp and the weft threads are 100% wool, the shirazi borders are woven with two colors and special technique, both edges are finished with 2 cm kilim with Soumak technique, the 6cm fringes of both edges are woven with special technique, the background color is rust, the center medallions are indigo, thick pile, in perfect condition, soft as a handkerchief, in its original shape.
A similar example was published in the catalog of “Der Orientteppiche und Seine Muster” by P.R.J. Ford on page 232, plate 533.
