Villeroy & Boch Plate
A decorative pair of antique 19th-century ceramic wall plates produced by Villeroy & Boch, entirely crafted in glazed earthenware with finely sculpted figural scenes in relief.
- Sculpted Ceramic Figural Medallions: The central panels are finely modeled in high ceramic relief and finished in a lustrous olive-bronze monochrome glaze, depicting charming pastoral scenes of children playing with puppies and interior genre vignettes.
- Elaborate Relief Borders: Wide, salmon-pink glazed borders richly molded in ceramic relief with Renaissance Revival scrolling foliage, foliate strapwork, and fine beaded rim accents.
- Documented Factory Marks: Impressed on the reverse ” 60, JH, 655, 7 V & B g. ” with the official stamp “V & B g.” (Villeroy & Boch geschützt), model number “655”, artisan mark “JH”, size mark “60”, and period batch date stamp “7”.
