An exquisite antique Syrian occasional table crafted in Damascus circa 1900. It features intricate hand-carved arabesques and shimmering mother-of-pearl inlays. In addition, the frieze displays authentic Moorish mashrabiya woodwork with a warm antique patina.
- Damascus Hand-Carved Workmanship: Master Syrian artisans deeply carved the rectangular top with flowing floral arabesques and a central medallion. Moreover, finely detailed geometric borders frame the entire edge.
- Mother-of-Pearl Star Inlays: Inlaid mother-of-pearl stars accent the center and corners of the tabletop. These luminous shell accents contrast beautifully against the deep, warm tones of the hardwood.
- Turned Mashrabiya Lattice Apron: The openwork frieze showcases authentic Syrian turned-wood spool work (mashrabiya). Furthermore, the carved legs form elegant polylobed Moorish arches.
- Versatile Proportions: The table measures 56 cm long, 47 cm wide, and 40 cm high (approx. 22.0″ x 18.5″ x 15.7″ inches / 1’10” x 1’6″ x 1’4″ feet). Therefore, it serves perfectly as a low coffee table, cocktail stand, or plant pedestal.
- Authentic Historical Condition: The piece preserves its original antique finish, natural surface wear, and mellow color consistent with its late Ottoman-era origin.
- Prestigious Syrian Artifact: This distinctive piece brings authentic Damascus craftsmanship, rich Middle Eastern history, and exotic charm to fine residential interiors.
