A monumental antique Syrian handcrafted bar cabinet from Damascus, crafted circa 1880 (approx. 140 years old). It showcases breathtaking hand-cut mother-of-pearl inlays across richly figured hardwood. Furthermore, the elevated architectural stand offers generous proportions for entertaining.
- Master Damascus Inlay Work: Master artisans covered the front panel with lavish iridescent mother-of-pearl inlays. In addition, floral arabesques and flowering urn motifs create an opulent palace aesthetic.
- Solid Hardwood Construction: The cabinet is built from rich aged walnut. Moreover, the side panels display incised foliate branches accented with delicate inlaid stars and geometric borders.
- Versatile Entertaining Cabinet: The upper section opens to reveal generous storage for fine spirits, glassware, and cocktail accessories. Therefore, it functions perfectly as an authentic dry bar, drinks cabinet, or decorative credenza.
- Stately Proportions: The cabinet measures 134 cm wide, 52 cm deep, and 107 cm high (approx. 4’5″ W x 1’8″ D x 3’6″ H / 52.8″ x 20.5″ x 42.1″ inches). Thus, it commands an impressive presence in a grand dining salon or lounge.
- Architectural Ottoman Base: The lower stand features shaped angular brackets and shaped cabriole legs. Furthermore, dense geometric marquetry accents every supporting frieze.
- Rare 19th-Century Syrian Artifact: This piece represents the pinnacle of late Ottoman-era Levantine craftsmanship. Thus, it appeals strongly to discerning collectors of Islamic and Middle Eastern antiques.
