Antique Hand-Painted Russian Orthodox Icon – Our Lady of Kazan with Cyrillic Inscriptions
Fine antique hand-painted Russian Orthodox icon depicting Our Lady of Kazan (Theotokos of Kazan) with the Christ Child, bearing traditional Cyrillic inscriptions including “Казанская” along the left side. As one of Russia’s most sacred and revered miracle-working icons, the Kazan Mother of God has historically been invoked as a spiritual protector of the nation and is traditionally presented as a blessing during weddings.
In good condition considering its age, showing age-related wear. Hand-painted on a traditional wood panel.
