Antique, collectors item with Armenian inscriptions. Vegetable dyes, the knots are hand spun lamb wool, the black knots are oxidized, the background color is warm rust, at the center three medallions, the surrounded large border is ivory, nice example, part of the carpet is used, soft as an handkerchief.
A similar example was published in 2002 in the catalog of ” PASSAGES Armenian Rugs ” by Murray L. & Eiland Jr. on page 113, ill. 78.
