Indian Bronze Krishna
An antique Indian cast bronze votive statue depicting the Hindu deity Krishna as Venugopala (the divine flute player), dating from the late 19th to early 20th century.
- Sacred Venugopala Iconography: Modeled in the classic tribhanga posture with legs crossed at the ankle, poised as if holding his celestial flute (murali) to his lips.
- Devotional Adornments: Features a high braided topknot headdress, stylized ear ornaments, a patterned waist cord (kavacha), and serene facial features typical of South Asian regional bronzes.
- Dark Sacred Patina: Displays a deep charcoal-black and bronze surface tone with authentic ritual high-point rubbing and warm golden highlights around the feet and pedestal.
- Carved Lotus Plinth: Elevated on an integrated tiered circular pedestal chiseled with lotus petal motifs (padmasana), offering stable freestanding display for an altar, shrine, or collection.
