Antique, collectors item, vegetable dyes, the brown knots are oxidized. The knots, the warp and the weft threads are lamb wool. Minor places the pile needs to be rebuilt, the surrounded large border is warm rust, the background is allover diagonal design, the selvages are woven on two lines with wool, soft as a handkerchief, high standard quality and in its original shape.
A similar example was published in the catalog of ” CAUCASIAN RUGS “, by Ulrich Schurmann on page 151, plate 46.
