An elegant antique fine earthenware pitcher featuring a beautiful relief decoration in the traditional Westerwald style. The central motif depicts a classic European Renaissance-style mascaron (Blue Man / foliate head) surrounded by intricate blue cobalt scrollwork and stylized foliage, contrasted against a cream-colored crackle-glazed background.
Manufacturer: Reinhold Merkelbach (Grenzhausen, Germany).
Markings & Authenticity: The base features the official stamped logo used from 1902 onwards (a six-pointed star enclosing the initials RM), along with the model/mold number 560 and an artisan letter B.
Period: Early 20th Century (Jugendstil / Historicism era, circa 1902–1915).
