Phoenician Statuette
A vintage hand-sculpted bronze votive figurine modeled in the ancient Canaanite Phoenician tradition, depicting the god Baal or Reshef with a gilt foil-accented head.
- Mythological Levantine Iconography: Modeled in the classic smiting posture of the Canaanite storm god Baal (or warrior deity Reshef), wearing a conical atef-style headdress, kilt, and raised arm once holding a lightning spear or mace.
- Gilded Headdress & Face: The stylised mask and high headdress are enriched with a luminous gold leaf finish, contrasting vividly against the dark bronze cast.
- Architectural Votive Tangs: Features traditional pointed anchor pins (tangs) projecting from the soles of the feet, historically used to affix the figurine into stone or wooden votive plinths.
- Aged Patina & Archeological Aesthetic: Finished with a variegated olive-green and charcoal aged bronze patination, capturing the character of Bronze Age Mediterranean metalwork.
